｜easy healthy steam drumsticks with dried mushroom and red dates｜
Apart from stir frying, steaming is one of the best well-known Chinese cooking method to many westerners. Chinese steaming is all about simplicity, with minimal marinates or seasoning, for example seafood like live crabs/fish/shellfish as well as chicken are popular steaming dishes in Chinese cuisine.
In most of the steaming dishes, only green onions and gingers are used, or sometimes dried mushrooms or dried fruits like goji berries and red dates to infuse natural flavours into the main ingredient through steaming, so to avoid any excessive marinates or seasoning.
To make easy steam chicken, simply take drumsticks instead of chicken leg or the whole chicken. drumsticks are more tender, juicier than chicken breasts and easier to handle than the whole chicken, and most importantly drumstick has less fat than chicken leg.
